YouTube All Set For 1080p HD

Will you believe it when I tell you that YouTube is only around 4 years old? The kind of publicity that this video sharing website has gained and the kind of commitment which it owes f

rom its regular visitors is phenomenal. Though many other sites have already started to roll out 1080p HD videos but YouTube is going to be the first that delivers this technology to the masses.

YouTube has announced that starting next week they will add options of viewing 1080p or the regular 780p content. The newest roll out

will be advantageous for those viewers who have larger screens and faster systems.

Recently it has been heard that YouTube was seriously talking to some of the Hollywood biggies so that it can stream out movies on a rental basis (don’t you torrent lovers start jumping as you will get another

chance to upload movies to torrents). The 1080p initiative will surely back this thought of YouTube and will force Hollywood to give a second thought to their idea. YouTube has always been

eager to present more and more commercial content so as to grab a larger share of the Internet video streaming market, and 1080p is going to help quench this thirst of YouTube.

As of now YouTube releases its videos in 780p even if they have been uploaded in the 1080p format. YouTube has decided to re-encode all its past videos so that all the available content is visible in 1080p format, giving you the chance to enjoy best possible quality. They have already rolled out a test video for those who are eager to enjoy the 1080p HD experience on YouTube. Though the 10 minute time limit won’t be lifted from the videos, but I am sure that the 2 GB video size limit should surely be changed considering the fact that the 1080p HD videos will be huge in size.

Do you own an HD camera and call yourself the next gen videographer? Then what are you waiting for? Get your camera rolling and start uploading the videos to YouTube for people to view them in better available formats, starting next week. And remember to add your website URL to the videos if you are webmasters like us.
