Not just for a day but Google has announced that it will offer free Wi-Fi internet services till January 15th, 2010 in over 47 major airports of United States. This holiday season in United States is the time when people spend the most and stores give away the best possible discounts. Google is one of those companies who has always loved to share what it earns with its searchers and this step of offering free Internet for air travelers is seriously going to help raise its brand’s value in the United States.
Statistics say that an average passenger spends around 70 minutes in an airport before they get the chance to board the flight. This happens due to hectic flight schedules and crappy weather conditions causing delay in flights. And the best part is these 70 minutes start counting when you have crossed the security checks and have no other work to do. Using Internet is the best thing to do at this time and Google is smartly capitalizing on this.
“We’re very happy to extend our holiday Wi-Fi gift to the millions of people who will spend time in airports over the next few months.” said Marissa Mayer of Google. She is the vice president of user experience and search products at Google.
“We know that this is a very hectic travel season for people, and we hope that free Wi-Fi will make both travelling and connecting with friends and family a little bit easier.”
Some of the major airports that are part of this offer are located at Charlotte, St. Louis, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Seattle, Indianapolis, Houston, Burbank, Baltimore, Boston, San Jose, and the gamblers heaven Las Vegas. Travelling will get just a little bit more exciting during this holiday season.
